Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Process Chemical Engineer with 2-5 years of industrial
experience to support process optimization, scale-up activities, troubleshooting, and continuous
improvement initiatives. The candidate will work closely with Production, Innovation, Quality,
Maintenance, and SHE teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Optimization
• Monitor and analyse process performance to improve productivity, yield, quality, and energy
efficiency.
• Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for process deviations and operational issues.
Production Support
• Provide technical support to manufacturing operations.
• Ensure adherence to process parameters and operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
Process Development & Scale-up
• Participate in technology transfer and scale-up of new products from laboratory to commercial
production.
• Prepare and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, batch manufacturing records, and
operating procedures.
• Conduct process risk assessments and hazard studies.
SHE & Compliance
• Participate in PHA, HAZOP, What-If Analysis, Process Risk Assessment, and Management of
Change (MOC) activities.
• Promote safe work practices and support incident investigations.
Documentation & Data Analysis
• Prepare technical reports, process validation reports, SOPs, and operating instructions.
• Analyse process data and generate recommendations for performance improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of process changes and improvement projects.
Cross-functional Coordination
• Collaborate with R&D, QA/QC, Engineering, Procurement, and Maintenance teams.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Understanding of unit operations such as Saponification, distillation, filtration, drying,
extraction, evaporation, and reaction engineering.
• Knowledge of process safety and risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, mass balance, and heat balance calculations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
• Experience in Surfactants, Specialty Chemicals, Agrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals/API,
Petrochemicals, or Fine Chemicals manufacturing.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Production yield improvement.
• Reduction in process losses and waste generation.
• Process reliability and uptime.
• Timely completion of Cost Efficiency projects.
