Job Description – HR Manager

Position Overview

The HR Manager will be responsible for managing the complete Human Resources function for the manufacturing plant, ensuring smooth HR operations, statutory compliance, employee engagement, and alignment with organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities

1. HR Operations & Administration

  • Handle end-to-end HR operations including onboarding, attendance, payroll coordination, leave management, and exit formalities

  • Maintain employee records, HR MIS, and reports

  • Draft and implement HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbook

2. Talent Acquisition & Manpower Planning

  • Manage recruitment for plant, technical, staff, and contractual positions

  • Coordinate with department heads for manpower planning

  • Handle induction and joining formalities

3. Statutory Compliance & Labor Laws

  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws including:

    • Factory Act

    • PF, ESIC

    • CLRA

    • Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages

  • Coordinate with government authorities, auditors, and consultants

  • Handle inspections and statutory audits

4. Industrial Relations (IR)

  • Maintain healthy employee relations at plant level

  • Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and domestic inquiries

  • Liaison with contractors and manage contract labor compliance

5. Performance Management & Training

  • Support performance appraisal process

  • Identify training needs and coordinate skill development programs

  • Promote employee engagement and retention initiatives

6. Welfare & Engagement

  • Oversee employee welfare activities

  • Drive engagement initiatives, communication, and culture building

  • Ensure compliance with safety, welfare, and statutory committees


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • MBA / MSW / PGDM in Human Resources

  • 8–15 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing / engineering industry

  • Strong exposure to plant HR, labor laws, and compliance

  • Experience working at factory / plant location


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Hands-on, practical approach to HR & IR

  • Ability to work independently at plant level

  • Leadership and problem-solving mindset


Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience in engineering / fabrication / auto components industry

  • Local candidate or willing to relocate to Bharuch

  • Exposure to handling contract labor and shop-floor workforce
